Hello! My name is Rohit V. Nanavati. I am an Assistant Professor at the Aerospace Engineering department at IIT Bombay. My primary area of expertise is design of intelligent guidance, control and path planning solutions for autonomous vehicles in goal-oriented missions, with focus in Field Robotics. My current research interests include design and hardware implementation of intelligent path planning algorithms for diverse applications involving autonomous ground or aerial robots. I am currently investigating the design and deployment of cooperative path planning algorithms aimed for autonomous multi-robot systems deployed to achieve gas distribution mapping of an area of interest or source term localization useful in Chemical, Biological, Radioactive, and Nuclear disaster response. I also interested in applications of Monte Carlo Tree Search based path planning techniques, applications of autonomous aerial robotics in precision agriculture applications like pesticide spraying and crop surveying, intelligent decision-making algorithms for manufacturing robots.
